Where can I donate books?
Books to Benefit is currently closed during Thanksgiving week (November 18-28). Beginning Wednesday, November 29, Books to Benefit will, once again, accept in-person donations on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. You may use drop boxes to donate items anytime throughout the year.
What items do you accept?
Books to Benefit accepts most used books in good condition. Donated items become the exclusive property of Books to Benefit. Any books donated should be intact — have both a front and back cover, no pages missing, and no pages falling out due to a broken binding or spine. Books should not be water damaged or in obviously poor condition.
Books to Benefit will continue to accept DVDs, Blu-ray and CDs (please, no home-made discs of any kind).
Books to Benefit is unable to accept items that it is no longer able to sell, donate or recycle, specifically encyclopedias, magazines (including National Geographic magazines and Reader’s Digest Condensed books), games, calendars, stationary, records (LPs, 45s and 78s), cassette tapes or VHS cassettes.
Alternate donation sites include Goodwill and Home Sweet Home Mission, veterans groups and senior centers. Please contact them directly to learn what items they will accept.
Cash and in-kind donations allow us to keep operating expenses to a minimum. We would like to thank our donors for their generosity.
Your cash donations are also tax deductible. You may donate to Books to Benefit through our secure PayPal donation link. Please let us know if you company matches donations. For example, State Farm does list Books to Benefit as a nonprofit eligible for matching donations. We will happily provide any information you need to match the donation. Please contact us at (309) 531-8320 to learn more.
